I’ve heard so many amazing things about Florence so when we bought our plane tickets to Milan, I knew I had to somehow squeeze Florence into our itinerary. I can’t tell you how many people have told me that Florence is their favorite city in Italy (and in the world, for some), so I was going in with some pretty high expectations. Florence, like many other Italian cities, is like one big walking museum. Everywhere you turn, there’s a piece of history staring at you in the face. It’s the birthplace of the Renaissance, the capital of Tuscany, and so many history-changing, talented artists and designers have called this city home.
